Home Automation
X10 has been designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing a wide variety of home automation products that are inexpensive and easily installed by consumers since the 1970's. The home automation line consists of "controllers" that instantly or automatically send signals over existing AC wiring to receiver "modules," that in turn control lights, appliances, heating and air conditioning units, etc. The controllers range from plug-in tabletop controllers to wireless remotes to a controller that interfaces to personal computers and incorporates two-way transmission of power line signals. Today, X10 Ltd. and its various subsidiaries employ more people in the design, development, manufacture, and marketing of home automation products than any other company in the world.
Remote Controls
X10 is today the world's largest manufacturer of OEM branded IR Universal Remotes. X10 has manufactured Universal Remotes at the rate of over 1 million per month over sustained periods of time. X10 has the largest "on-chip" library in the industry (128K).
We manufacture all types of Universal Remotes, multi-function remotes, PC remotes, LCD remotes, learning remotes, slider and flip remotes. Basically, if it can be controlled by a remote, X10 makes one that will control it. Many of the Universal Remotes manufactured under the X10 brand, as well as for major OEMs include Home Control capability.
Security Systems
In 1989, we released the world's first low-cost, self-installed wireless security system, the SS5400. We went on to develop the DS7000 voice dialer system the DC8700 monitored system and the PA5800 personal alert system. The self-installed security system was a breakthrough in wireless technology and is still widely used today. X10 is currently the world's largest manufacturer of wireless, self-installed security systems.
Security Cameras
X10 designs, develops, manufactures and markets all sorts of security cameras, from wired cameras that connect directly to a television to wireless cameras that transmit to a TV or PC. This includes our line of pro-grade PTZ cameras.
X10 is the World Leader in 2.4GHz Wireless Remote Controlled Cameras. These cameras are compatible with, and can be controlled by X10 remote controls and PC interfaces.
