Purchasing

X10 has an extensive purchasing staff based in Hong Kong and China, which lets us purchase high volumes of components very quickly and at very competitive pricing.


IQC

All components that X10 purchases are subject to 100% incoming Quality Control (IQC) testing. This ensures that the quality is "built into" the product rather then "tested into it" like some competitors.

We also visit our vendors and carry out quality audits on components BEFORE we purchase them.


PCBA

PCB assembly lines - X10 tests all PCB assemblies to ensure high quality product at the end of the line.


Chip on Board (CoB)

X10 bonds ICs directly onto the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for reduced cost and increased reliability.

  • 14 Bonding machines in our CoB workshop (1 ASM559, 5 ASM510, 7 ASM520, 1 ASM530)
  • Maximum production capacity is about 2,200,000 wires
  • For our current universal remotes (Jasco, Phillips, etc.), the throughput is about 750,000 per day


SMT - Surface mounted Technology

  • 5 pick-and-place machines (SAMSUN NEO CP45 FV) and 3 lead-free reflow ovens
  • 8 production lines (3 manual production lines, 5 automated production lines)
  • Maximum production capacity is about 2,000,000 components per day
  • For our current products the throughput is about 800,000 per day


Final Assembly

  • Everything is 100% tested

Packaging and OQC

  • Outgoing Quality Control (OQC)
  • All shipments are subject to an outgoing QC audit and the entire lot is rejected and sent back for rework if it fails OQC
  • Our Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) is 1% for major and 2.5% for minor defects
